Relationship anxiety
The fear that they will leave is loud. It is not always information. Check the week, then your body.

Relationship anxiety is the body scanning for exit signs and treating a slow reply as a verdict. Sometimes the person is inconsistent and your fear is accurate. Sometimes they are at work and your nervous system is running last year’s abandonment. Split those. Look at the week of kept plans, not the last forty minutes of read receipts. Then calm the body: walk, food, sleep, one honest sentence. A model can walk you through a plan. It cannot sit at the table. Catch My Wave is for people already around you when you need real contact, not a 2 a.m. spiral.
- Anxiety writes stories. The calendar writes facts.
- Delay the 11 p.m. audit. Send the message in daylight or not at all.
- Fast attachment is often loneliness plus a warm chat, not fate.
- If the person is actually unreliable, that is data, not your disorder.
Story versus week
Why am I overthinking their texts: because a phone is a slot machine and you have history. The counter is the last three meets. Did they come. Were they kind in person. Did they do what they said. If yes, put the phone in another room. If no, the anxiety is a messenger: this is not safe-enough. Leave, do not analyse tone.
Why do I get attached so quickly: often a contact drought. The first person who is warm gets the whole job. Slow the merge. See them twice in daylight. Keep your own Saturday. Afraid of getting attached is the same engine in reverse — you leave first. Both are strategies. Neither is a personality you are stuck with.
A grounding hour
Name five things in the room. Drink water. Do not reread the chat. Write the fear in one line: they will vanish. Then write the evidence from this month. If the evidence is thin and they have been decent, you need a walk, not a confrontation. If the evidence is thick, you need an exit, not a journal.
Fear of abandonment in dating is common after a messy home or a ghosting year. Therapy helps if this is every person. A new situationship will not. If you want people nearby without turning one chat into oxygen, drop a Beat from a place you already are. Location is stored when you share it. We do not follow you around the house.
How Catch My Wave helps with relationship anxiety
Drop a Beat. See who’s dropping Beats around you. Send a Wave. Chat when they catch it.
A Beat is a photo or a short clip from the place you’re in. Location is stored so people nearby can see it. Other people do not see your pin, the exact time, or a movement trail.
A Wave is a hello with an intent — coffee, chat, hang, campus. Catching is free. Chat opens only if they catch it.
Crossed paths means two Beats probably shared the same real-world context: about 300 metres, posted within about 30 minutes, in the last 24 hours. That is overlap, not proof you stood together.
We do not follow you while the app is open. Your pin is only taken when you share a Beat. You must be 18.
If you want people who are actually around you — this café, this campus, this place — open Catch My Wave, share a Beat, and look.
Questions people ask
Is relationship anxiety the same as dating anxiety?
Dating anxiety is the approach and the first hours. Relationship anxiety is the fear inside a we. They can stack. See dating anxiety for the first-date version.
Should I tell them I have relationship anxiety?
You can name it once, without making them your nurse. “I over-read slow replies; I am working on it.” Then work on it. Do not require constant reassurance as the relationship.
