What we collect

When you create an account we store:

• Account details from Google, X, or email (name, email, sign-in identifiers).
• Your profile: first name, gender, date of birth, who you want to meet, city, interests, and photos.
• A short on-device video check used once to confirm the portrait is you. We store that you verified — not the clip itself as a public video.
• The city you set on your profile. Precise location is only stored when you share a Beat, to match you with people nearby. Other people do not see that pin or the time you posted.
• Beats you share: a photo or short clip and an optional short caption. We store the pin privately so we can show nearby Beats and people. We do not attach a venue, area name, or timestamp on the Beat other people see.
• Waves you send or catch, chats after a mutual catch, blocks, and reports.
• Wallet records: daily Waves, purchased Waves, referral Waves, Wave+ status, and a ledger of those events.
• Payment references from Cashfree (order and payment ids). We do not store your card number.
• Referral codes and first-touch attribution (a visitor key on your device for 30 days).
• Push subscription endpoints if you allow notifications.
• Optional contact-form messages you send us. We store them and email them to the founder so we can reply.

How we use it

• Show people you crossed paths with in the last 24 hours when both of you dropped Beats that indicate the same real-world context: within about 300 metres, posted within about 30 minutes. That is probable shared context, not verified time spent together. The list is Beat-derived only. We do not track you in the background, we do not show how far apart you were, and we do not say you spent a set amount of time together.
• Show Beats from about 1 kilometre of your last drop. Fresh Beats (about 3 hours) appear under New today; older ones from the last 12 hours under Earlier today, then they leave the feed. Other people see the clip, caption, first name, and portrait. They do not see the time, distance, area, a pin, or any movement history. You can send a Wave from a Beat. No comments or likes on that feed.
• Send and catch Waves, open chat only after both sides agree.
• Credit free daily Waves, purchased packs, referrals, and Wave+.
• Ping you when someone Waves or catches yours, if you opted in.
• Keep the product safe: blocks, reports, and abuse limits.
• Understand aggregated product usage with Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. We do not publish those ids, and we do not use them to identify you to other people.

What other people see

Other users can see your first name, age, city, photos, interests, verification mark, a Wave+ mark if your pass is active, and whether you crossed paths recently. On Beats they can see a photo or clip you posted, with your name. They do not see when you posted, how far you were, a movement history, or your exact spot. Your Beats stay on your profile after they leave that feed. They do not see your email, date of birth, exact coordinates, wallet, or payment details. Chat is only with people after a Wave is caught.

Location, camera, and notifications

The city on your profile is taken from your device when you set it. We do not keep a live pin while you browse. Location for Crossed paths and the Beats feed comes from the last Beat you shared — we do not track you in the background. Crossed paths uses that pin privately (about 300 metres, Beats within about 30 minutes, last 24 hours). Beats around you are retrieved within about 1 kilometre, shown as New today for about 3 hours and Earlier today through about 12 hours — without a public time, area, map pin, or movement history. That Beat stays on your profile. Camera is used on your device for the 4-second verification clip, and if you share a Beat, for that photo or short clip. Notifications use the browser Push API; you can turn them off in the app or the browser.

Payments

Wave packs and the Wave+ 30-day pass are charged in Indian Rupees through Cashfree Payments. Cashfree processes the card, UPI, or net-banking details. Wave+ is a one-time pass, not a recurring subscription. We only keep what we need to credit your wallet and handle billing questions: amount, SKU, and Cashfree ids.

Sharing

We do not sell your profile. We share data with: Cashfree Payments (payments), Google or X (sign-in), Google Analytics (aggregated usage), and hosting/database providers that run Catch My Wave. Lawful requests from Indian authorities may require disclosure.

Retention and deletion

We keep your account while it is open. Delete account in Profile removes your profile, photos, Waves, chats, wallet, referrals, and sign-in record. Some payment records may be kept as required for Indian tax and dispute rules. Referral attribution on a device is stored up to 30 days.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, change city, turn off notifications, or delete your account. To ask what we hold, email snkkhatri876@gmail.com.

Children

Catch My Wave is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
